1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. Similar technologies include local storage. They let a website remember things such as your sign-in session or preferences.
2. How $S uses cookies
We keep cookies to a minimum. Our own analytics are cookieless. We use the following:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
totosid / __Host-totosid | Essential | Keeps you signed in and protects forms against CSRF attacks | Session (30 days with "remember me") |
lang | Preference | Remembers the language you selected | 1 year |
toto_consent (local storage) | Essential | Stores your cookie choices | Until cleared |
toto_notice_*, toto_recent_search (local storage) | Preference | Remembers dismissed notices and recent tool searches on your device | Until cleared |
_ga, _ga_* | Analytics (optional) | Google Analytics 4, only if enabled by the operator and you consent | Up to 2 years |
Google advertising cookies (e.g. __gads, IDE) | Advertising (optional) | Google AdSense ad delivery and, with consent, personalisation | Up to 13 months |
3. Your choices
When you first visit, a banner lets you accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies or customise your choice. Essential cookies are always on because the site cannot work without them. You can change your choice at any time using (also in the footer).
We use Google Consent Mode: until you consent, Google tags run in a restricted mode and only non-personalised ads are requested.
4. Browser controls
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in. Most browsers also offer private browsing modes that clear cookies when closed.
5. Third-party services
Google services are governed by Google's own policies: Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites that use its services. Payment providers (Stripe, PayPal) may set cookies on their own checkout pages.
